Matt Jensen is a Minneapolis-based acoustic musician. He sings lead or harmony, and plays mandolin, fiddle, guitar, banjo, flute, and tin whistle. He teaches lessons, classes, and workshops to help people start or improve playing bluegrass, old time, and Irish traditional music with other people. He runs several jams and sessions in these kinds of music that are open to anyone.
He has played venues including 56 Brewing, Acadia Cafe, multiple American Legions, Amsterdam Bar & Hall, Art in Motion, Art on Broadway St, Aster Cafe, Bachman's, Badger Hill Brewing, Boom Island Brewing, Como Lakeside Pavilion, Day Block Brewing, Driftwood Char Bar, Eagles 34, Finnish Bistro, Ginkgo Coffeehouse, Hayes Public House, Heavy Rotation Brewing, Home Plate Grill, Kingfield Porchfest, LTS Brewery, Mill Valley Market, River Bottom Tavern & Brewhouse, Rhythm of the River Festival, Torg Brewery, Troubadour Wine Bar, Urban Forage, White Squirrel Bar, and multiple festivals of the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association. He has sat in with the Jugsluggers and the Squid City Slingers, and added fiddle to studio recordings by Eric and Polly Rapp.
