Matt Jensen is a Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter and traditional musician, performing solo and in multiple groups. Solo acoustic shows involve covers and originals in the styles of bluegrass, old time, and Irish music. As a band member he may sing lead or harmony, and play mandolin, fiddle, guitar, banjo, flute, and/or tin whistle. He also teaches lessons and classes and enjoys helping beginners to start playing bluegrass, old time, and Irish traditional music with other people.
He has played venues including 56 Brewing, Amsterdam Bar & Hall, Art in Motion, Art on Broadway St, Bachman's, Badger Hill Brewing, Boom Island Brewing, Day Block Brewing, Driftwood Char Bar, Eagles 34, Finnish Bistro, Hayes Public House, Heavy Rotation Brewing, Home Plate Grill, LTS Brewery, Mill Valley Market, multiple festivals of the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association, River Bottom Tavern & Brewhouse, Rhythm of the River Festival, Torg Brewery, Troubadour Wine Bar, Urban Forage, and White Squirrel Bar.
